Nomenclature: Named after Rudolph Ferber of Gera, Germany.
Industrial Uses: Ore of tungsten.
Additional Notes: Ferberite (iron tungstate) forms a series (the Wolfamite series) with the mineral huebnerite (manganese tungstate). Specimens with significant amounts of both iron and manganese are typically referred to as "wolframite."
