Nomenclature: Named after the Persian word lazward which means "blue" because of its color.
Industrial Uses: Gemstones, ornamental stones.
Additional Notes: The gem variety of the mineral lazurite. Not to be confused with the mineral lazulite, despite the similarity of names and appearance.
